Information

B.A. Baracus RFC is pleased to announce that we will be holding our First Annual Halloween Tens Tournament on Treasure Island Saturday, October 27th, 2007.

There will be both a Men's and Women's division. Collegiate level and above are welcome.

Format

This tournament is 10-a-side Rugby. For more details on how playing Ten's is different from Seven's or Fifteen's, look at the Rules section.

The tournament will be divided into two segments: round robin pool play in the morning and championship and consolation brackets in the afternoon. The exact number of games each team will play will depend on the total number of teams in the tournament, however each team will play at least 3 (and more than likely 4) matches.

Performance in pool play will determine seeding and eligibility in the afternoon brackets using the following scoring system:
  • Three Points for a Win
  • One Point for a Draw
  • One Bonus Point for scoring four or more tries in one match
Tie breakers will be as follows:
  1. Point Differential
  2. Number of Tries Scored
  3. Flip of a Coin

Contests

In the spirit of Halloween and Baracus Rugby, we will be holding two contests at the tournament, each with a $100 cash prize!
  • Best Team in Costume - The whole team is judged on their costumes. They don't all have to be the same or even remotely related to one another. The idea is to reward the team that is the most enthusiastic.
  • Best Mr. T Look-a-like - This is an individual competition in honor of our namesake, BA Baracus. Bust out the gold chains and feathers from your ears and show how you pity tha' fool.
Both contests will be judged by the tournament managers and both prizes will be paid to the winning clubs.

Location and Directions

The tournament will take place on 3 fields on Treasure Island in San Francisco. Here is a map that shows the fields as well as where to park: Map of Fields.
